Google In-Page Analytics

Google Analytics is a measurement tool of one’s business .It is the best and effortless tool to measure and comprehend engagement on one’s site. In-Page Analytics reports give a visual estimation of how users interact with your WebPages. Based on the links users click on the homepage of their site, one can navigate In-Page Analytics the way they navigate their site. When one clicks on any link of the homepage and when the new page is loaded, the matching data are shown for that page. The reports provide support for page level information, advanced segments and data comparisons. These reports can furnish useful information to web designers and UX Professionals.

These reports are beneficial in analyzing in various ways including:
• Are the users seeing the relevant content?
• Are the users able to locate what they are looking for on the page?
• What links users are clicking?

In-Page Analytics can perform excellent with modern browsers such as Microsoft Explorer 9 or later or current versions of Chrome or Firefox. But the most limiting factor of In-Page Analytics is to find out which link the user actually clicked .So, if a page has two or more than two links to the same destination page, the same statistics for both the links are shown. The second disadvantage is that one has to enter the URL for the page for the report to open and not by the actual link of the page. Before the Enhanced link attribution In-Page Analytics was restricted in showing information only on links and not on other basics such as buttons or menus.

Very recently Google Analytics team announced a significant innovation to their In-Page Analytics report-enhanced link attribution. Enhanced link attribution offers more-detailed reports .But this added reports come at some additional cost of the speed in creating the report .One needs to tag the pages of the website to apply enhanced link function .For this one have to use the asynchronous version of the Analytics tracking code. The next step after you update your tracking code is to enable enhanced link attribution in your property settings carefully .
